Van Buren County
Born in Washington County, Pennsylvania, November 29, 1799, and moved to Ohio in 1819 where he lived until the fall of 1889 when he moved to Van Buren county. In 1854, he represented this county in the Legislature, at which time our law makers met at Iowa City. When about 20 years of age he attached himself to the Presbyterian Church and continued a faithful member, being an elder for 40 years of that time.
