Born January 13, 1815, in Belmont, Ohio. He married Jemima Graham on March 3, 1845, in Guernsey County, Ohio. They had seven children. By 1851 the family had moved to Abingdon. He represented Jefferson County in the Fifth General Assembly (1854-1856). However, he moved from the county and didn’t serve in the special session for the Fifth General Assembly. From 1857 to 1862 he was living in Centerville, working as an editor. By 1864 the family had moved to Attica. He was elected to represent Marion County in the Twelfth General Assembly (1868-1870). From 1870 to 1880 he was living in Decatur County working as a physician and a farmer. In 1881 he began selling his property and moved to Jewell County, Kansas. He passed away on February 18, 1886, in Mankato, Jewell County, Kansas.
