Duncombe Webster County Republican.Born on a farm near Burnside, Webster county, Iowa, May 19, 1887. Was educated in the rural schools and at Tobin College, Fort Dodge. Taught in the public schools three years. On account of poor health went to Ward county, N. Dak., where he taught school and homesteaded eighty acres of land. Returned to Iowa in 1911 and started farming. Married to Mildred Lundgren, May, 1915; father of two sons and two daughters. Helped organize the Webster County Farm Bureau and the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation. Served as Farm Bureau president, secretary and director; was county agricultural agent from 1921 to 1923. Since 1923 has farmed and bred Belgian horses. Holstein cattle and Hampshire swine. Member of the Masonic lodge and the Methodist church. Served on Webster county and Duncombe city boards of education. Serving first term in the legislature.
