Keokuk County Republican. Born in Keokuk county, August 15, 1882. Attended rural school, and graduated from high school at Keswick, Iowa, in 1902. Married to Clara Price of Keswick in February, 1910, who died in 1921. Has one daughter, Jessie, and two sons, Lloyd and Edgar. Married to Flora E. Dillon in 1924. In lumber business twenty-two years. Served as a member of the board of education in Keswick 18 years; a member of the Keokuk county board of education. Vice president of the White State Bank, South English. A member of the I.O.O.F lodge for thirty-six years. Affiliated with the Methodist Episcopal Church. Serving first term in the legislature.
