Spirit Lake Dickinson County Democrat. Born on a farm in Audubon county, Iowa, October 6, 1888. Moved to Dickinson county, March 1, 1901. Educated in the public schools. Married to Minnie Hartman, December 18, 1912, and has one son, Duane Albert. In 1914 he moved to Spirit Lake; and three years later to Montgomery, where he conducted a general store for eleven years. He was township clerk ten years, township assessor four years, a worker in the Red Cross several years, and superintendent of the Methodist Sunday school for many years. Was owner of the Ford automobile agency in Spirit Lake until 1937. Was field representative for the Iowa Taxpayers Association in 1938. Serving fourth term in legislature.
