WILLIAM TREIMER

MR. SPEAKER: Your committee, appointed to prepare a suitable resolution commemorating the life, character and public service of the late Honorable William Treimer, begs leave to submit the following memorial:

William Treimer was born February 6, 1886, and passed away April 6, 1857.

He married Emma Krebs of Durant, Iowa, on September 21, 1910. They became the parents of four sons: Wilbert, Virgil, Donald, and Wayne who preceded him in death.

Mr. Treimer served as secretary of the Hartley school board for many years and was secretary of the Farmers Mutual Insurance Association of O’Brien county; treasurer of the Iowa Mutual Tornado Insurance Association of Des Moines; and was one of the founders and vice-president of the Allied Mutual Casualty Company of Des Moines.

He was a member of the Methodist church.

He served as O’Brien county representative in the Forty-fifth, Forty-fifth Extra, Forty-sixth, Forty-sixth Extra and Forty-seventh General Assemblies.

He is survived by his wife, Emma, and sons Virgil and Donald of Hartley and Wilbert of Des Moines.

Therefore, Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the Fifty-eighth General Assembly of Iowa: That in the passing of the Honorable William Treimer the people of O’Brien county and the entire state of Iowa have sustained a great loss and the House expresses its appreciation of his character and public service and tenders, by this resolution, its sincere and heartfelt sympathy to his beloved family in their great sorrow and loss.

Be It Further Resolved: That a copy of this resolution be spread upon the Journal of the House and that the Chief Clerk be directed to forward an enrolled copy to the family of the deceased.
