Bedford. Representative from Taylor county, was born near Union, Hardin county, Iowa, in 1891 and spent his boyhood near Zearing, Story county, and graduated from high school there in 1910. Graduate of Drake University 1914, with postgraduate work in agriculture and education at Ames and Iowa City. Seven years in educational work as teacher and superintendent, nine years as farmer and four years as county treasurer preceded his election as representative from Taylor county. Has been a member of and participated as an officer in professional groups, teacher associations and Christian church groups. Married in 1916 to Della Keith at Bedford, Iowa, to which union two children were born, Mary Lois and Josephine. Serving second session in the legislature. A republican.
