Cedar Falls. Representative from Black Hawk county, was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on January 6, 1899. His parents, Hans J. Christoffersen and Mary (Jensen) Christoffersen, came to Iowa from Denmark in the early eighties. In 1930, he married Veronica Sedar and they have one child, Liane Mae. He has been a resident of Iowa practically his entire life, having resided on a farm for several years in Cass county and he has also lived in Corning, Winfield and Waterloo, Iowa, and is now a resident of Cedar Falls, Iowa. He graduated from Iowa State Teachers College with a B.A. degree in 1923, and from the college of law at the State University of Iowa in 1926. After graduating from law school he spent five years in the legal department, 1937-1938 of a Chicago bank, returning to Iowa in 1931 to take up the practice of law in Waterloo. In 1933 he was appointed district counsel for the Home Owners' Loan Corporation at Dubuque, Iowa, and remained with that corporation until March of 1936 when he again took up the practice of law in Cedar Falls, Iowa, where he is now located. He is a member of the Episcopal church, the Phi Alpha Delta and Alpha Chi Epsilon fraternities. He is also a member of the Elks club, the Lions club and the American Legion. This is his first term in the legislature. A democrat.
