Representative from Dickinson county, was born on a farm in Audubon county, Iowa, October 6, 1888. He moved to Dickinson county March 1, 1901, and received his education in the public schools. He married Minnie Hartman, December 18, 1912, and has one son, Duane Albert. In 1914, he moved to Spirit Lake, Iowa, and three years later to Montgomery, Iowa, where he still lives and where he conducted a general store for nine years. He was township clerk ten years, township assessor four years, a worker in the Red Cross several years, and was superintendent of the Methodist Sunday school for many years. Elected representative in 1932 and re-elected in 1934 and 1936.
