Representative from Pottawattamie county, was born and raised on a farm in Monona county, and graduated from the Woodbine normal and commercial school, Woodbine, Iowa, in the class of 1909. Married a Harrison county girl in 1911. Moved to Council Bluffs, in 1926. Worked as an auctioneer in southwest Iowa since 1910, and has a large acquaintance among farmers due to this profession. Entered the petroleum distribution field in Council Bluffs, in 1926, which business is now incorporated and doing business under the name of Putnam Service Company. Serving first term in the legislature. A democrat.
