Representative from Greene county, was born in Somerset county, Pennsylvania, November 18, 1867. Was married March 1, 1893, to Cora B. Warner. He has two boys, Robert and Walter. He was born and raised on a farm, and was engaged in the nursery business for ten years in Somerset county. From there he moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he entered into the jewelry business with his brother. He remained there until twenty-five years ago at which time he moved to Greene county, Iowa and he has resided there since that time. He served as mayor for two years and was active in all civic and progressive affairs. He is a member of I.O.O.F. and Rebecca lodges, Order of Eastern Star, Masonic lodge and Shrine. Serving first term in the legislature. A republican.
