GALLAGHER, editor and legislator, died at Mercy hospital at Davenport, March 3, 1946; born on a prairie farm near Williamsburg, Iowa, in 1858 and his home has always been near the place of his nativity; educated in the rural schools; editor of the Williamsburg Journal-Tribune since 1901 until he retired several years ago; represented Iowa county in the general assembly in eight sessions, including an extra session devoted to the revision of the code of Iowa; unmarried, a Democrat in politics, and a member of the Catholic church.
