FOREST DAVIS

MR. SPEAKER: Your committee, appointed to prepare a suitable resolution commemorating the life, character and public service of the late Honorable Forest Davis, begs leave to submit the following memorial:

Forest Davis was born March 28, 1879, in Wayne county, Iowa, and passed away January 27, 1958, at the age of 79 years.

He was the son of L. T. Davis, one of the pioneer settlers of Wayne county and was educated in rural schools. He taught in public schools for two years and farmed a few years, then entered Chicago Veterinary College, graduating in 1912. He located at Moulton, Iowa, where he practiced his profession, together with farming, real estate, and insurance. He was a former Postmaster at Moulton.

Mr. Davis was married in 1902 to Nora A. Thatcher of Wayne county. To this union three daughters were born, Cleo, Wilma and Lois.

He was elected to represent Appanoose county in the Iowa House of Representatives and served in th Forty-fifth and Forty-fifth Extra sssions.

Therefore, Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the Fifty-eighth General Assembly of Iowa: That in the passing of the Honorable Forest Davis, the state has lost an honored citizens, and the House by this resolution would express its apreciation of his service, and tender its sympathy to the members of his family.

Be It Further Resolved: That a copy of this resolution be spread upon the Journal of the House and that the Chief Clerk be directed to forward an enrolled copy to the family of the deceased.
