George Everett Van Wert
Franklin County
Representative from Franklin county, was born in Grundy county, Iowa, August 13, 1880. He moved to Franklin county in the spring of 1888. He married Miss Mabel Hansell, December 25, 1903. They have seven children: Lela, Mildred, J. S., Elsie Mae, Charles, Harriett and Howard. He is a member of the board of education, has served as township assessor, and is a director in the co-operative creamery, Farmers' Elevator Company, Franklin County Protective Association and for four years served as president of the county farm bureau. He is a member of the Church of Christ at Hampton, a republican in politics and a farmer. Elected state representative in 1928, re-elected in 1930.
