Representative from Humboldt county, was born in Grundy county, Iowa, December 7, 1874. He moved with his parents to Humboldt county in February, 1884. Attended the rural schools, the Humboldt high school and a short time at Ellsworth College, Iowa Falls, Iowa. Taught several terms in the rural schools before entering upon his life work of farming. Was married to Mary A. Morse, in June, 1905. They have three children: Lawrence, Mabel, and Margaret. Has served sixteen years as secretary of the school board and nine years as a member of the board of supervisors, and is serving his second year as president of the county farm bureau. Belongs to the Methodist church, several Masonic bodies, including the Shrine and the Order of the Eastern Star. Is a republican in politics and a member of the Rotary club. Elected representative in 1930.
