He attended the Elmwood grade school and West High school, Des Moines, and was graduated from the law department of the University of Iowa at Iowa City, in 1923. He began the practice of law in Des Moines that year soon after graduation. Was married October 15, 1924, and has one child, a son. He is a member of the American Legion, Argonne Post, Des Moines.
