Representative from Howard county, born at Cresco, Howard county, Iowa, December 20, 1876. A resident of Howard county all his life. Graduate of Cresco high school class of 1894. Has been actively engaged in the retail hardware business thirty-four years, continuing the business established by his father in 1873. Has been active in the hardware circles of the state for the past twenty years, twice serving as president of the Iowa retail hardware association. Served six years on the city council and two years as president of the Cresco community club. Married in 1901 to Miss Mary Farnsworth of Cresco. Have two children living, Baird and Mynette, one son, Craig, having died in 1926. Member of Congregational church, Masonic order and of the I.O.O.F. Elected state representative from the ninety-second district in 1928. Republican in politics.
