Republican representative from Wapello county, Iowa, was born in Ottawa, Illinois, September 22, 1883, and came with his parents to Eldon, Iowa, in March, 1895. He attended the public schools of Eldon. He and his brother engaged in the grocery business several years. In 1904 he became a traveling salesman for John Morrell & Co., meat packers of Ottumwa, Iowa. He worked in that capacity till 1912, when he was promoted to branch house manager first at Mobile, Alabama, then at Syracuse, N. Y., then Memphis, Tenn. In 1922 he left the employ of the Morrell company and came back to Eldon to engage in farming and stock raising with his brother. Mr. Hall was married to Miss Chloe McCrary in 1905 and has one daughter, Madalyn. He is a Shriner and 32d degree Mason, is president of the Iowa Fair Managers Association, secretary of the Wapello County Agricultural Fair Association, a member of the county board of education and has served for six years on the Eldon board of education. He is also secretary of the community club and active in all community affairs of his county.
