Mahaska County
Representative from Mahaska county, was born on a farm, in the county he now represents, December 18, 1870. Received his early education in the rural school and after finishing high school in Oskaloosa, completed a course in Highland Park college, Des Moines, Iowa. Has been engaged in farming and stock raising continuously ever since. Has held a number of offices in his township and served on his local school board twenty-eight years. Was married to Lillie B. Zaring of Fremont, Iowa, in 1898. They have two sons, Ralph W. and Glen A. He is a member of the Presbyterian church and a republican in politics. Elected state representative in 1926, re-elected in 1928.
