Representative from Taylor county, was born in Durham county, England, November 12, 1875. Came to Taylor county in 1879 with his parents who located on the present farm now owned and operated by him. Educated in the common schools. He married Lora Pearl West, October 11, 1905. Has three children, Grace N., Edith L., and Aleda I., all at home except when away at school. Has taken an active part in county and community affairs for many years. Was a member of his district school board for more than fifteen years. Was a member of the board of trustees of his township six years. Was a charter member and is now an active member in the farmers union and farm bureau. He is affiliated with the Fair View Christian church. Is a member of the Odd Fellows, and the Modern Woodmen lodges. A republican in politics.
