Representative from the first district was born in Kansas City, Mo., April 15, 1890. Moved to Iowa in 1908 and settled in Fort Madison. Educated in the ward and high schools of Kansas City. Took special course on the constitution of the United States from Prof. Rush of the northeast high school, Kansas City. Also preparatory course in law by Prof. Rush of the Kansas City school of law. Read law in the offices of attorneys E. C. Weber and J. R. Frailey, Fort Madison, Iowa. Employed by the A.T. & S.F. railway company from 1908 to 1920. Chairman of the board of police and fire commissioners of Fort Madison in 1920. Member of the Odd Fellows and Moose fraternal organizations. Member of the Methodist church, Fort Madison. Member of the democratic party.
