Born 1818 in Harding County, Kentucky. He married Sarah M. Lee and they had five children.. He had a law office in Bloomfield. He was a state senator from Davis county from 1852 through 1856. Samuel McAchran, 1st Lieutenant of Tenth Missouri Infantry, enlisted July 25,1861, commissioned August 22, 1861, died in Missouri, September 15, 1861.
