Born 1818 in Hardin County, Kentucky. He married Sarah M. Lee and they had five children. He had a law office in Bloomfield. He was a state senator from Davis county from 1852 through 1856. Samuel McAchran, 1st Lieutenant of Tenth Missouri Infantry, enlisted July 25, 1861, commissioned August 22, 1861, died in Missouri, September 15, 1861.
