He received a common school education in the public schools of Des Moines county. Also attended Elliott's business college. Was married to Margaret Bolick of Des Moines county September 20, 1898. A director of the Commercial State Bank of Mediapolis, Iowa. A director of the Sperry Savings Bank, Sperry, Iowa. Also a director of the Mediapolis Lumber Company, secretary and director of the Mediapolis Mutual Telephone Company. Has served on the jury commission for three years and is at present a member of said commission. Served two terms as vice president of the Des Moines County Farm Bureau. Is a farmer. A democrat in politics.
