Representative of Emmet county, was born in Tionesta, Pa., May 23, 1870. In 1873 his parents moved to Elkhart, Ind. He was educated in the public schools and university of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Ind. In 1894 he married Miss Florence Throop of Elkhart and their two children are Margaret, wife of DeWitt S. Osgood of Chicago, Ill., and Howard T. The latter served in the Marine Aviation Corps in the late war. Mr. Gordon has been a resident of Iowa six years having moved here from southern Oregon where he was engaged in farming and stock raising which he has continued. He is a Knight Templar, a Shriner and a member of the State Historical Society. Republican in politics.
