Representative from Mills County, Iowa, was born on a farm in that county, April 27, 1864. With the exception of a few years spent in southern Idaho, has made that county his home to this time. After finishing the public school at Glenwood and some time in Tabor college, he farmed for a few years. Then engaging in banking and retail lumber business for about ten years after which time he returned to the farm, feeding live stock for market and general farming. A republican in politics.
