Born in Rock township, Mitchell county, April 17, 1878. Attended the rural schools and later the St. Ansgar seminary and institute. Graduated normal course in 1899. Married June 29, 1915, to Catherine Rone, of Worth county, Iowa. Has one daughter, Constance. Appointed deputy county auditor of Mitchell county, 1913. Has been actively engaged in farming since the spring of 1906. At present is a director of the Osage Co-operative Grain & Supply Company, and the Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Association of Mitchell county and is a member of the county board of education. Has taken an active part and interest in farm organizations. A member of the Rock Creek Evangelical Lutheran church. Elected representative, 1920. A republican in politics.
