Representative from Clinton county, was born of American parentage, September, 1879, in Clinton county. His schooling consists of common and public school education, leaving same at the age of 15. Learned telegraphy at which he worked for six years, then entered clerical work for the C. & N.W. Ry, and train service as brakeman in 1902, then switching and yardmaster service in 1904. His political career started in 1914, when elected alderman of Clinton, serving until 1918. Elected representative in 1918. A republican in politics.
