Representative from Ida county. Was born February 14, 1858, on a farm in Whiteside county, Illinois. His education was acquired in the common and graded schools of that state. He came to Iowa in 1880, locating in Ida county and was a pioneer in the early settlement of that county. He has been engaged in farming and stock raising on the site of his present country home, for the past thirty-five years. Was elected to the legislature in 1916. Re-elected in 1918. A republican in politics.
