Representative from Des Moines county, was born June 10, 1889. He received his preliminary education in the public schools and St. Cecelia academy at Burlington. Shortly after graduation from the academy he entered Elliott's business college, from which he graduated about two years later, then entered the law office of J. T. Illick at Burlington for the purpose of studying law. Was admitted to the bar in 1913 and has been engaged in the practice of law since that time. He is the first republican elected from Des Moines county for about twenty years. Holds memberships in the Malta lodge, A.F. & A.M., St. Omar Commandery Knights Templar, Washington lodge, I.O.O.F., and the Order of Red Men. Is a member of the Methodist Episcopal church of Burlington. Elected representative in 1916. A republican in politics.
