One of the representatives from Polk county, and the son of Gen. James B. Weaver and Clara Vinson Weaver, was born at Bloomfield, Iowa, August 19, 1861. Attended the common school at Bloomfield until seventeen years of age. Farmed from 1877 to 1879 and clerked in a general store from 1879 to 1881. Graduated from the law department of the State University in 1882 and entered the law offices of Barcroft and Gatch and became a member of the firm of Gatch and Weaver in 1883, a member of the firm of Gatch, Conner and Weaver in 1885 and Conner and Weaver in 1897-and continued with this firm until 1904, since which time has continued the practice alone. Has always been active in public movements, having acted as president of the University Club, Prairie Club, Golf and Country Club, Des Moines Public Library, Iowa Press and Authors' Club and is a member of the Des Moines Town Planning Commission and Des Moines Better Housing Association. Elected representative in 1916. A republican in politics.
