Emmet County
Representative from Emmet county, was born in Grand county, Wisconsin, in 1867. His father was a native of Ohio and spent some time in the gold fields of California in the early fifties. His mother, Martha Tracy, was a native of Vermont. In 1877 he moved with his parents to Nebraska and three years later came to Iowa, settling in Emmet county. He secured a common school education and later spent two years at Parsons college. In 1900 he married Miss Ella Craig of Princeton, Illinois. He has served as president of the Estherville Commercial Club, County Farmers Institute, State Cement Users Association and Interstate Cement Tile Manufacturers Association. Elected representative in 1912. Re-elected in 1914. A republican in politics.
