Representative from Keokuk county, was born in Richland township, Keokuk county, Iowa, September 15, 1878. He first attended the rural schools and afterwards graduated from the Richland high school in 1897. He has been a farmer all his life with the exception of a little over a year in the mercantile business, but is at present engaged in farming. He was married to Miss Clare Vastine in December, 1901. To them were born two girls, twins. He has held several township offices, and is a member of I.O.O.F. Elected representative in 1914; a republican in politics.
