Representative from Pocahontas county, was born on a farm near Rolfe, Iowa, on December 1, 1880. He was identified with school work for several years, having been elected superintendent of schools at Ionia, Iowa, and later county superintendent, which position he held before entering the legislature. He finished a course at Cedar Falls and spent one year in the law school at the University of Michigan. Was married to Miss Anna I. Moody, June 9, 1909. They have no children. Is a member of the Presbyterian church, an Odd Fellow and a Mason. Elected representative in 1912. A republican in politics.
