Representative from Ringgold county, was born July 25, 1877, on a farm which is now his home. His parents were of old New England descent. He received a common school education and has lived on a farm all his life. Has always taken a keen interest in scientific agriculture. Is now the president of the Diagonal Farmers Institute. Is a member of the Methodist church and is active in local and state Sunday school work. Was one of the Iowa delegates to the World's Sunday School convention in Washington in 1910. Elected representative in 1912. A republican in politics.
