Representative from Mitchell county, was born in Mineral Point, Iowa county, Wisconsin, December 25, 1849. He came to Iowa in 1869, locating in Mitchell county. After finishing high school, he attended Cedar Valley Seminary for a short time. Taught school several months; was a member of the board of supervisors of Mitchell county for nine years, and was manager and secretary of the Osage Creamery for ten years. At present he takes an active Interest in farming. Was married to Miss Clara E. French, April 7, 1876, and has five children. Elected representative in 1912. A republican in politics.
