Representative from Benton county. Born at Garrison, Iowa, of Scotch descent and has lived in that vicinity since his birth. He was educated in the common schools. He began farming for himself at the age of twenty-two years. Was married at the age of twenty-four. Besides being a farmer, he is an extensive stock raiser and is identified with the following enterprises: A director in the Peoples Savings Bank, Vinton, and also the Greeley State Bank at Greeley, Nebraska, and a stockholder in the Farmers' Savings Bank of Garrison. He is also in the directorates of the Benton County Telephone Company and Benton County Agricultural Society and president of the Benton county branch of the Corn Belt Meat Producers' Association. Elected Representative in 1906. A Republican in politics.
