Scott County
Representative from Scott county. Born at Davenport, Scott county, Iowa. He attended parochial schools, St. Ambrose College and Davenport Business College. Worked as a stenographer in the office of C. A. Ficke and later Ficke & Ficke, financial agents, of Davenport, Iowa. Was a bookkeeper and confidential clerk for thirteen years. Entered fire insurance and real estate business in 1900 and in November, 1903, consolidated his agency with the large agency of W. H. Snider, becoming the senior member of that well known Davenport firm. Is a member of several fraternal organizations, among them the Knights of Columbus (of which he held the office of financial secretary for four terms), Cedar Camp No. 27, Modern Woodmen of America, B.P.O.E. No. 298, the Turner society and several other Davenport clubs and organizations. Elected Representative in 1906. A Democrat in politics.
