Appanoose County
Representative from Appanoose county, was born in Green county, Pennsylvania, in 1874. His parents were American born. In 1875 his parents moved to Appanoose county, Iowa, settling in John's township, afterward removing to Independence. He was licensed to preach in the Baptist church when nineteen years old and was ordained when twenty-two. He now serves Hopewell church in Wapello county and Liberty church in Davis county. He has held the offices of constable, justice of the peace and deputy sheriff in his home township and county. For six years he served his party as township committeeman. Elected Representative in 1906. A Republican in politics.
