Cerro Gordo County
Senator from the Forty-third District, composed of the counties of Cerro Gordo, Franklin and Hancock. Born in Iowa Falls, Hardin county, Iowa. His parents were natives of England. He received his education in the Mason City High School and took a course in civil engineering at the State University, graduating in 1884. Followed the occupation of civil engineer for three years, during which time he was connected with the Union Pacific Railroad at Cheyenne, Wyoming. In 1887 he entered the banking business at Mason City, and has followed this occupation ever since. Elected Senator in 1903 and served during the Thirtieth, Thirty-first and Thirty-second General Assemblies.
