Born September 15, 1855, in Somerset, Pennsylvania. He came to Iowa in 1873, living and working in Waterloo for 4 years. He then went to Poweshiek county and 2 years later Dallas Center where is worked in the hardware business. He married Miss Sarah Goughnour in September, 1874. Mr. Hunter was elected to represent Sac County in the Twenty-second General Assembly, 1888.
