Lorenzo Dow Lane
Franklin County
Licking County, Ohio, July 29, 1830, and at Delaware, in that state, he was married to Miss Mary A. Mickle in 1853. Four years later Mr. Lane and his young wife removed to Freeport, Illinois, and in 1868 to Franklin County. Mr. Lane became a member of the Hampton M. E. church in 1872. He was a machinist by trade and enjoyed a liberal education. For many years Mr. Lane was engaged in the book and stationary business in Hampton and was proprietor of the electric light plant for several years. During his residence in Franklin county Mr. Lane on several occasions served the people in positions of trust, among which was as a member of the board of supervisors and representative in the legislature.
