Benjamin Jennings

Born in Fayette county, Pennsylvania, August 1, 1819. In 1840 he was united in marriage to Miss Ann Jeffries. Fourteen years later, in 1854, he moved with from Ohio and settled in Elm Grove township. He was a farmer by profession. Here Mrs. Jennings died ten years later. He was subsequently married to Mrs. Nancy Harris. Mr. Jennings was an upright Christian gentleman and had been a consistent member of the Baptist church since the age of twenty-seven. In 1877 he was elected to the state legislature and performed the duties pertaining to that office with fidelity to his constituents and credit to himself.
