Born in Washington county, Pennsylvania, December 3, 1824. He came to Iowa in 1864 and settled in Scott county. He return to Pennsylvania in 1866 and on January 9th of that year was united in marriage to Miss Mary R. Patton. Mr. and Mrs. Connelly returned to Scott County living there until 1878 when they moved to Victor. He was a farmer by profession. A member of the Congregational Church and I.O.O.F. He was a representative from Scott County in the Fifteenth Iowa General Assembly, 1874.
