Born October 17, 1837 in Brookfield, Vermont, removing with his parents to Illinois in 1850. He afterwards spent three years in California and lived a number of years in Poweshiek county before coming to Dallas county. He was married to Jennie Bailey of the same county. He represented Guthrie County in the 15th Iowa General Assembly, 1874.
