Born on October 2, 1827, and died on August 23, 1902. He married Amy H. Phares June 13, 1837, in Butler, Ohio. He came to Iowa in 1847. Long a citizen of Danville township, he is very highly esteemed by men of all parties for his sound sense, modest bearing, unquestioned integrity and kindliness of character. He was elected to represent Des Moines County in the Thirteenth General Assembly, 1870.
