Christian Hirschler was born March 28, 1827, in Kleinbockenheim, Germany. He immigrated to America in 1849. He married Katharina Eymann in Donnellson, Iowa, in 1853. He was a wine distiller and dealer while living in Lee County. By 1880, the family had moved to McPherson County, Kansas. In 1887 they moved to California. He died in Los Angeles, March 23, 1912.
