Born December 28, 1815, in Ohio. He lived in Clinton County and was a farmer. He served on the Clinton County Board of Supervisors 1864-65. He was elected to the Iowa House of Representatives for the 12th General Assembly (1868-1870). He died January 15, 1873, and is buried in English Cemetery, Spring Rock Township, Clinton County, Iowa.
