Elected to the State Legislature by a handsome majority. Mr. Johnson was a resident of Cherokee, where he published a paper, the Cherokee Free Press. During this Twelfth session of the Legislature, the preliminary survey for the Dubuque and Sioux City Railroad was run through Cherokee county, and the line established.
