Jacob Hart
Henry County
Born in Greene County, Pennsylvania, 1827. At the age of 33 he was living in Mt. Pleasant, Henry Co., Iowa, when he enlisted as a Private in Co. K of the 4th Iowa Cavalry on Oct. 9, 1861. He was mustered into federal service on Nov. 25, 1861, and commissioned as a 1st Lieutenant. Hart transferred from Co. K to "Field & Staff" on April 18, 1862. He transferred back to Co. K on Oct. 1, 1862, when battalion staff positions were eliminated. Hart was discharged by Special Order 11, War Dept., A.G.0., dated January 8, 1864. He was a farmer by trade. Mr. Hart represented Henry county in the 12th General Assembly, 1868. He died in Denver, Colorado, in 1895.
