Born in 1835 in Kent County, Delaware, and died on April 21, 1921. He came to Iowa in 1853. He wed Kate Wood of Clay County, Missouri; on December 13, 1860. Miss Wood was the daughter of Judge Wood, of Clay County. They had three children. He was a member of the Fremont county Board of Supervisors form 1862 to 1865. William Sipple, of Sidney, and Caleb Sipple, owned and managed dry goods store of Sipple & Co., it being the only store in Hamburg in 1863. They constructed a fine building of Sipple & Co. in 1868, it contained the Masonic Hall.
